1. Introduction
2. Information We Collect
Account information: Your email address and password (encrypted). When you register via Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Profile information: Your optional forum display name and selected jurisdiction (country/region).
User content: Watchlist items, bookmarks, pinned quotes, and forum posts and replies you create.
Payment information: We do not store your credit card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We receive your subscription status and transaction metadata from Stripe, but never your card number or banking details.
Usage data: We may collect analytics data about how you interact with the platform (e.g., page visits, feature usage) to improve our services.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
- To store your watchlist, bookmarks, pinned quotes, and forum content.
- To process BCC+ subscription payments and manage your membership status.
- To send you a weekly market digest email (BCC+ members only).
- To respond to your support and contact requests.
- To tailor educational content to your selected jurisdiction (e.g., tax-advantaged accounts, deposit insurance).
- To improve our content, features, and user experience.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data with the following third parties only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe β processes subscription payments and manages billing. Stripe's handling of card data is governed by their own privacy policy and PCI compliance.
- Google β provides OAuth sign-in and, if you use it, shares your basic profile information with us.
- AI service providers β when you use the AI Tutor, Concept Reader, Story of a Dollar, or Quote Generator, your queries are sent to our AI provider to generate responses.
- Email delivery β we use a third-party email service to send verification codes, the weekly digest, and responses to your contact messages.
We may also disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid request from law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage (not tracking cookies) for the following purposes:
- Authentication: A session token to keep you logged in.
- Story of a Dollar cache: AI-generated company analyses are cached locally for 30 days to avoid redundant API calls.
- Jurisdiction preference: Your selected country/region for content tailoring.
You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will log you out and clear your Story of a Dollar cache.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Your user-generated content (watchlist, bookmarks, quotes, forum posts) is retained until you delete it or your account.
If you cancel your BCC+ subscription, your premium features are revoked but your account and data remain intact. You may request full account deletion at any time by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your information (subject to legal exceptions).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page.

The platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
